It's been way too long....(post #8)

I guess starting homeschooling distracted me from blogging about homeschooling....hmmm, I suppose that's a good thing. It means I'm concentrating more on teaching than blogging :-)  It's been almost a year since my last post.

My inspiration to get back to this blog comes from my dear friend's daughter, and my god child, who also has started a blog called Find your Courage http://findyourcouragetostart.blogspot.com/. Thank you Becky.

Our first year of homeschooling is nearing it's end. And I know this sounds cliche' but this school year has just flown by! All in all it's been a good year....still tweaking things here and there...but that is one of the beauties of homeschooling. My son has already accomplished several goals we set out to reach and that makes me feel great. Does that mean I'm done tweaking and changing things around? No. This is still a work in progress....always room for improvement.

But isn't this just like anything else? All of us have room for improvement in all areas of our life...work, home, relationships. There is only one area of our life that doesn't need improvement and that is our salvation. No work needed there...and that is such a comfort that gets us through each day....knowing our future is secure...all worked out....a free gift of love and grace. In this season of Lent, we are reminded of God's great love for us....also of our sins. It was because of our sin, that Jesus came to live the perfect life we cannot and to suffer the agony of our punishment that we deserve and to rise again to secure that future we look forward to in heaven.  We live each day in God's grace, and improve what we can with His help...but all the time realizing that what really counts, our salvation, is already taken care of and perfect just the way it is...no tweaking necessary!
